I have had the pleasure of trying these tasty and fabulous macaroons in Paris, where Laduree is had initially established itself in 1862. It was like art when I first saw them, because they were so delicate and beautifully displayed. They look like food for of the Gods. I love the smell of bakeries and it definitely lures me in. Pastries and baking are an important aspect in French culture, and because it is so important I think the quality of the the food is a lot better. Below are the picture from Ladurée to show you just how amazing and grand the place is (and some amazing shots of macaroons where there is no crown in front of it!).
The beautiful patisserie
This is just one of the many amazing macaroons they create, where it is just more than a ganache as the filling. It's a sculpture!
My favourite was the chocolate macaroons with the chocolate ganache. I am a big sucker of anything chocolate and I just felt as if I was in heaven. The packaging is amazing and it's an artform. Every little touch is beautiful and amazing. (Below is my little package)I do have concerns with the new store in Sydney, as it isn't the same in Paris because the atmosphere is not the same with going in a patisserie and seeing all the range of macaroons they create. I think the range will be mainly the basic ones, however they are absolutely delicious also. There have been many other countries that Ladurée has established themselves (London and Japan) and it has been a hit. Joseph told me that there was a huge line for Ladurée and people were waiting hours, so I'm sure it will be worth it. I have only heard such wonderful things from friends who hav tried it and the hype has been buzzing around. It seems the wait is well worth it, anything for a little taste of Paris!
For more details you can go to to Ladurée's website: http://www.laduree.fr/en/scene
Or you can go visit Pitt Street Mall in Sydney!
So easy to get to, just catch a train to Town Hall station and you're there.
