Hey guys! It's Joseph again and we've got an awesome update for you guys! We're really excited about this post so lets just jump straight into it! We went to a FANTASTIC Laotian restaurant called 'Holy Basil' located at 233A Canley Vale Road, Canley Heights.
Now something that would be really great to do would be to book your table before coming down here to eat because this place is so good that people line up. So the 3 of us had to wait a while to get in but... It was so worth it. Every single second.
We went inside and it was had nice bright atmosphere. The kitchen can be seen so its quite a treat to see how the food is made! Now lets get right into it before I get hungry from looking at these pictures (drooling already!).
I decided to get the pad thai and bbq chicken! The pad thai was definitely above average and of great quality. I really enjoyed it! The noodles didn't taste cheap; You could actually taste the flavours within the noodles and it was soft and easy to eat. It comes with whatever meat of your preference (e.g. beef or chicken. I got chicken). The pad thai had wonderful flavour! It had a real chilly punch to it as well (custom; can make it chilly or not) which I loved.
The bbq chicken was delicious as well! It had a really beautiful charcoal flavour that allows you to undergo the bbq experience Laos has to offer. The bbq chicken went really well with the sauce.
Vincent decided to eat the red curry roasted chicken. This was a great choice! The duck melted in your mouth and the curry burst with great flavour!
Alicia decided to eat the salt and pepper calamari. This along with the other food we order tasted great! It had great flavour mixed with the herbs and chill sauce they provide.
Last but least, we ordered their famous fried ice cream! Wonderful choice. Crispy on the outside and once you dig your spoon in it and put it in your mouth, the flavours melt all over your mouth. It had nuts on it too which blended well. Beautiful dessert from this restaurant.
We really did enjoy ourselves here and the food was fantastic! We rate this place a strong 4/5!
